When the Universe Stops Whispering and Starts Shouting

I wasn't looking for this opportunity. I was honestly asking the universe, "What's next for me?"

And then I received a text from the Miss Maryland USA folks.

Something inside me said yes before my logical brain could object. The registration flowed so smoothly it felt like doors were opening themselves. Even now, telling you about it, I get goosebumps.

This pageant? It's not about the crown. It's about the platform. It's about standing in front of people and saying,

"What if we stopped waiting for someone else to heal our communities? What if we did it ourselves?"

I've been carrying this vision of Heal Her Village in my heart for months, and suddenly I have a stage to share it from. That's not coincidence. That's calling.

Picture this: A woman leaves a situation that was breaking her spirit. She needs more than just a roof over her head. She needs a place where she can remember who she was before the world told her who to be.

That's what Heal Her Village will be. Not just transitional housing, but healing spaces where women can:

Find safety in homes built with intention and love, using materials that honor both the earth and the healing process
Rediscover their strength through programs that address the whole person; mind, body, and spirit
Share their gifts in community education centers where women teach each other and lift each other up

A Stage Built for Purpose

I could have started this nonprofit quietly, working behind the scenes.

But here's what I know: Sometimes the world needs to see you claim your space before they'll believe in your vision.

Miss Maryland USA gives me something I can't create on my own, a platform where people have to listen. Where my voice for women's healing carries weight. Where Heal Her Village stops being my dream and becomes our reality.

Here's what's happening:

Right now: I'm raising funds for the pageant while filing paperwork for the nonprofit
August 23-24: I'll be on that Miss Maryland USA stage, representing every woman who's ready to heal
Spring 2026: We officially launch Heal Her Village as a 501(c)(3)
Fall 2026: We break ground on our first healing village
